Geriatric and Paediatric Psychiatry

Geriatric psychiatrists focus on diagnosis, evaluation, treatment and prevention of emotional and mental disorders in the elderly and improvement of psychiatric care for healthy and ill elderly patients. Geriatric psychiatry, also known as psychogeriatrics, geropsychiatry, or psychiatry of old age, is a subspecialty of psychiatry dealing with the study, treatment and prevention of mental disorders in humans with old age.

Child and adolescent psychiatry is known as pediatric psychiatry. It is a branch of psychiatry that focuses on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of mental disorders in children, adolescents. Pediatric psychology is a multidisciplinary field that is accounted under both scientific research and clinical practice which helps address the psychological aspects of illness, injury, and the promotion of health behaviours in children, adolescents, and families.
